1913.04.08 It was resolved that ... the Treasurer should write to Mr A.W. Battersby, Mr R.J. Williams and Mr G. Landtman [about arrears in subscription]
1915.10.26 The Treasurer read a letter from Mr R. Williams whose subscription was two years in arrears, asking that he might be excused paying his subscription for 1915 as he had suffered financially by the war. It was resolved to inform him that the Institute would forego the subscription for 1915 but that that for 1914 was expected to be paid
1916.07.18 The Treasurer reported the case of Mr R.J. Williams who had been excused the payment of his subscription for 1915 on condition that he paid that for 1914. As he had not yet done as the Treasurer asked that he might threaten Mr Williams with legal proceedings. This was agreed to.

R. James Williams was the headmaster of the Worcester School of Arts and Crafts and was the editor of and major contributor to their periodical, The Three Pears. He also illustrated several children's books. [Heritage Auctions attached to sale of one of his watercolours]
