Notes From Elsewhere

? dates from announcement of death of mr Hugh Edward Raynbird in Reading Mercury, Berkshire

Just within the garrison gate we cross the canal, and are joined by three friends, who give us much valuable local information. They are Hugh Raynbird, Esq., the Steward of the Hackwood Estate, Mr. Bartlett, who acts as the caretaker of this historic site, and Mr. Hall, the village blacksmith, to one and all of whom our best thanks are due.

after an interval at Basingstoke for lunch, a move was made for Old Basing, permission having been given by Mr. H. Raynbird, steward to Lord Bolton, to visit the historical ruins of Basing House

William and Hugh Raynbird are not well known in the geological world. They appear to be agriculturalists and land surveyors.

Hugh E. Raynbird born Wickham Skeith, Suffolk
