Dr Henry Burden (b. 1835, d. 18 February 1893)
Henry Burden (son of William Burden and Margaret Mitchell)32 was born 1835 in 16 Alfred St, Belfast, Ireland33, and died 18 February 1893 in London England34. He married Anne McCormac on 5 August 1862 in St Anne's Church, Belfast, Ireland, daughter of Henry McCormac and Mary Newsarm?.
Henry Burden was born in Belfast and was educated at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution and Queen's College, Belfast, where he studied medicine and won several awards. In 1860 he was appointed demonstrator of anatomy in Queen's College and in the same year was elected a member of the Clinical and Pathological Society. In 1861 he became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons. For a short time he worked in the Maternity Hospital under his father, Professor William Burden. From 1888 to 1889 he was President of the Ulster Medical Society and was pathologist to the Belfast Royal Hospital until his death. Throughout his life he was active as a member of the Belfast Literary Society, the Belfast Natural History and Philosophical Society, the Belfast Naturalists' Field Club and the Royal Irish Academy
