Joseph Phipps Townsend was born in 1812 at Warlingham, Sussex, England.1 He was the son of Reverend Charles Townsend and Lucy Jesse.1,2 He married Penelope Woollam, daughter of John Woollam and Mary Anne Burges, on 3 February 1853 at Abbey Church, St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England.1 He died in 1888.1<br /> He was a practising attorney.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He lived at Walpole, Norfolk, England.1 He lived at Downhills, Tottenham, London, England.1<br />Children of Joseph Phipps Townsend and Penelope Woollam<br /><br />visited New South Wales in the 1840s
