1910 BMJ - ANDREW GILMOUR, L.R.C.P.EDIN., J.P., V.D.,<br />LINLITHGOW.<br />WE regret to have to announce the death, after a few days'<br />illness, of Dr. Andrew Gilmour, one of the oldest medical<br />practitioners in Scotland. ...He held the rank of Surgeon-<br />Lieutenant-Colonel in the old Volunteer Force, receiving<br />the Volunteer decoration. In politics Dr. Gilmour was a<br />Conservative, and did much to further the cause of the<br />party in the burgh. The funeral took place at Linlithgow;<br />the procession was headed by the Freemasons, of which<br />body the deceased was a Past Master. All the shops in<br />the town were closed, and there was present a large<br />concourse of people, especially of the poorer classes, of<br />whom Dr. Gilmour was a great friend.<br /><br />Commissions signed by the Lord Lieutenant of the County of Linlithgow.<br />Linlithgowshire Rifle Volunteers. 1 st or Linlithgow Company. Mr Andrew Gilmour to be Honorary Assistant-Surgeon. Dated 10th May 1860.
