Born in 1875, Alice Margaret Adams was the daughter of H.O. Adams, and was educated at the Jersey Ladies' College, and at Somerville College, Oxford, from 1896 to 1899. She received her MA in Dublin in 1905, and her D.Sc. in 1910. She married the Rev. John Sinclair Stevenson of the Irish Presbyterian Mission, and worked with him in India. She died in 1957.
