District Post Master.<br /><br />William Walter Ritchie, a British subject born in Northern Ireland, went to China in 1901 and started working in April the same year at Zhenjiang custom. He later served as postal commissioner at Ji'nan, Chengdu, Harbin and Guangzhou. He evacuated Najing before its fall, and came back in mid-February 1938 to resume postal service.
