=== House Notes ===
1909.02.12 Proposed by A.M. Paterson, Henry O. Forbes 1909
1919.01.21 The Treasurer read a letter from Dr W.H. Broad who had sent a cheque for £2.2 for the current subscription, having paid cash in 1914. He stated he had been on active service since 1914 & had had heavy expenses; if compelled to pay up arrears in full he would have to resign.02It was resolved that Dr Broad be asked to pay his subscription for 1915 as he had received the Journals for that year, and that the Council would forego his subscription for the years 1916, 1917 and 1918.12

=== Notes From Elsewhere ===
He graduated in Liverpool in 1900 and he worked in several local hospitals including the Royal Infirmary.
between 1902 and 1904, he spent two years travelling, visiting the United States, Canada, Australia and South Africa. On his return to Liverpool in 1904, he became a consultant and he married Cynthia Hawkes, who interestingly was the daughter of Henry Morgan Hawkes of Adelaide in South Australia and they had one son. Doctor Broad was quite well known at that time in Liverpool as an orthopaedic surgeon but also as an Anthropologist. He held a number of prominent positions in the area including Regional Consulting Advisor in Physical Medicine and lecturer in Physical Anthropology at Liverpool University. Anthropology was a kind of second career for him and he was a fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute. He was also a member of Liverpool City Council and a President of Liverpool Literary and Philosophical Society. His publications in scientific and medical journals included the papers, ‘The Skeleton of a Native Australian’, published in 1902 and ‘Prehistoric Man In The Light of Recent Discoveries’, published in 1914.

a Liberal politician
