Journals of varying calibre existed such as the Revue Tunisienne published since 1893 by the Institut de Carthage. This was oriented towards Roman Antiquity in Tunisia. Born in Metz September 30 1854. A physician and anthropologist from Lyons. Chief doctor of prisons. Founder of the Carthage Institute and the Tunisian Review. Majority of his work devoted to Berber anthropology. Member of the Anthropology Society of Paris , he received the gold medal of this society.
