death noted in report of the council for 1903: Mr. JOHN ALLEN BROWN,' son of Mr. John Brown, arctic chronicler and one of the founders of the Ethnological Society, is best known as the author of Paleolithic Man in North-West Middlesex, a book which is based mainly upon his observations of the implement-bearing gravels and brick earths of Ealing. In him the Institute loses one of its most frequent and valued contributors on the subject of flint implements, of which he possessed a large collection.
