Gush, Frederick Aaron<br />Born in Finsbury 1817. <br />Christened May 25 1817 in Finsbury. <br />Md Eliza Susanna (1823 - 1883).<br />STUDIO: 179 Regent Street, Westminster 1858 - 1859. Succeeded by Gush & Ferguson. Court Circular advert August 6 1859; Times advert November 29 1859.<br />Miniature painter 23 Newman Street, Oxford Street, Westminster 1847 - 1852. <br />1861: photographer living at 14 Stamford Villas, Fulham. Also artist.<br />Exhibited portraits at RA 1847 - 1866.<br />Died in Hendon 1870.<br />LITERATURE: Foskett<br /><br />Frederick Aaron, launched his new career as a professional photographer. His first business address in 1860 was in Regent Street, London - a ‘must have’ address for anyone setting up a photographic studio at this time. Frederick exhibited two frames each containing nine portraits, at the London Photographic Society Exhibition in 1860. A year later he entered into partnership with another photographer, W H Ferguson, and there are several examples of the small photographs, known as carte-de-visites, produced by this partnership including one of the Prince of Teck. The Gush & Ferguson partnership exhibited at the London Photographic Exhibition for the next three years<br />
