Norman Armitage Sprott studied medicine at Oxford University, St Thomas's, the London Hospital and the Middlesex Hospital. His varied posts included medical officer to the Hyderabad State Railways, member of the medical board of Eton College and medical superintendent of St Columba's Hospital, London. He retired to Jersey where he died on 25 June 1979, survived by his children Peter and Margaret, his daughter Cecily having predeceased him.<br />
