Ferenc Tompa ( 6 January 1893 - Budapest , February 9 , 1945 ) was an archaeologist, professor of first archeology at the Pázmány Péter University , member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (1935), the late 1940's III. chair of the International Archeology Congress, an elected member of several international scientific associations.
He finished the grammar school in Keszthely and Esztergom . He was a historian, but his mother did not support it. At age 17, he was a reporter for Subotica . He signed up for the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Budapest. However, with the outbreak of the First World War, he is called to the soldier and is on the front. The end of the war is achieved by the rank of lieutenant, and he completes his studies. On August 9, 1919, he was admitted as a doctor.
He first went to the National Museum and then to the Szombathely in 1920. Here Kálmán Miske introduces the art of archeology. In Oddölfi's study trips, he meets with many outstanding representatives of international research, such as G. Clark.
