Born in Bombay,student and writer, Denmark Hill Grammar School in London. In the Indian navy for a time. Studied Natural History at Lawrence Scientific School at Harvard, 1876-1977. Studied Geology and Mineralogy at the Royal School of Mines in London. In 1893 he took a trip through India and Italy, he shot a tiger, whose skin he gave to sister Georgiana. Wrote in German for PhD in Philosophy. During WWI he worked for the Germans and was interred in Tyrol for a time. Wrote and co-authored at least 3 books, likely also wrote many articles.
