1872.03.04 The resignation of Dr Thomas Nicholas was received but not accepted in consequence of non-payment of arrears of subscriptions, and of the retention of books of the Institute in his possession.
1872.03.18. A letter was read from Dr Tho. Nicholas in reply to that of the Secretary respecting the resignation of Membership; and was referred to Mr Price who was requested to see Dr Nicholas on the matter.
1872.04.22 Mr Price having made a report on his interview with Dr Thomas Nicholas relative to his resignation and arrears of subscriptions to the Institute, It was resolved that Mr Price be thanked for his report; and that Dr Nicholas be informed that the Council cannot accept his resignation as a Member of the Institute except upon payment of two years’ subscriptions due to the Institute; and that the Council can take no steps in reference to the matters at issue between Dr Nicholas and the late Anthropological Society.
