Humberto dos Passos Freitas (1893-1926) was a distinguished figure from the social milieu of Madeira, linked to sport and the founding of the National Sports Club, as opposed to the Marítimo, would distinguish itself in the bombing of the German submarines to Funchal and would have planned the escape of the monarchists of the Lazareto of Funchal, there imprisoned after the Northern Monarchy. He would die in the sight of Funchal, aboard his yacht, sunk in the storm of December 15, 1926. Pub. By José de Sainz-Trueva (org.
