=== Notes From Elsewhere ===
Name: Samuel Stafford Allen Sex: M ALIA: Stafford /Allen/ Birth: 1840 Death: 1870

Samuel Stafford Allen was born on 6 Sep 1840 in 7 Cowper Street, London and died on 26 Apr 1870 aged 29.
Basic notes:
He worked as an Engineer in Ramleh, Alexandria, Egypt.
Samuel married Emily Elizabeth Morgan.

I am in the process of writing a history of Stafford Allen and Sons, who were drug grinders. Samuel Stafford Allen's father started the business and he was the eldest son and was sent off to Alexandria because of ill health. In Alexandria he traded as S. S. Allen & Co which became Allen, Alderson and Co. which was an engineering company. They were a Quaker family and so not into portraiture but I am trying to identify a portrait which is believed to be of him and will let you know the outcome [Julia Stafford Allen 18 Nov. 2015]
