image and dates from ancestry site - possibly not correct for our man, though name and date range would fit<br /><br />Royal Field Artillery. 1st Home Counties Brigade; Captain and Honorary Major William Frederick Dick (late 8th London (Howitzer) Brigade, Royal Field Artillery) to be Major. Dated 17th October 1914 [supplement to London Gazette]<br /><br />[BHO] Little Horkesley Hall: ... sold it in 1914 to H. E. Paine. He sold it in 1917 to W. F. Dick of Josselyns, (fn. 14) whose widow D. M. Dick sold it to H. A. A. White c. 1967. (fn. 15) <br /><br />The walls of a room on the first floor of Josselyns, Little Horkesley - a timber-framed and plastered building of c. 1500, with central hall and cross-wings-are largely covered with a stencilled design (PI. V II ), and there a remains of a similar pattern in one or two other rooms; a further portion was also presented to the Colchester and Essex Museum by Major W. F. Dick, a former owner.
