Hermann Schaaffhausen (19 July 1816, Koblenz – 26 January 1893 Bonn) German anatomist, anthropologist, and paleoanthropologist. Hermann Schaaffhausen was the son of Josef Hubert Schaaffhausen and Anna Maria Wachendorf. He studied medicine at the University of Berlin and received his doctorate degree in 1839, and became a Professor of Anatomy at the University of Bonn
