Notes From Elsewhere

Hull physician Murdoch Kelburne King, M.D., who treated Stephenson after the 1868 shooting incident off Flamborough Head. It's from the British Medical Journal, January 16, 1886. As you can see, he had a notable career, and the mere fact that his obituary was published in the BMJ shows his status among the British medical community. In addition to being a leading physician of the day, he was an Alderman and Magistrate of the City of Kingston-upon-Hull, as well as being a three-time Mayor of Hull.
