Manuel González de la Rosa, priest, historian and archaeologist
librarian
Attending meetings of the Anthropological Institute in London also testifies the evolution of his thinking on indigenous societies of the pre-Hispanic Peru. After a lecture to the company by Thomas Hutchinson [35] , November 11, 1873, he made a speech -in French- to attract the attention of ethnologists on the desirability to further explore the pre-Hispanic cultures of the north coast of Peru. On this occasion he denounced a rumor then current, suggesting the existence of historical and cultural ties between indigenous peoples of the region Eten and the Far East [36] . The existence of large pre-Inca civilizations in Peru would therefore become his main credo and he had to defend throughout his life with the tenacity that he knows. In a text [37] dated the same month of November 1873 he advanced the idea that the time perception we had so far in Peru because civilization had been blurred by the Inca official mythology as it was transmitted the Spanish conquerors. If the case of Tiahuanaco seemed obvious, he cited other monuments that seemed to prove the existence of several much earlier cultures of the Incas:
"[...] Other equally compelling monuments, their style and their seniority, leave no doubt that it existed in other parts of Peru as Vilcas, Huaitará, Huanuco, Lima, Chincha, Trujillo, Chachapoyas, etc., earlier civilization centers, with more or less different from the traditions of the Incas
