Bernardo Bernardi ( Medicine , 1916 - Rome , 2007 ) was an Italian anthropologist and writer . It is considered a reference point for the development of intra-anthropological studies in Italy
Bernardo Bernardi was born in Medicina in 1916 . In 1946 he graduated in Ethnology at La Sapienza University in Rome , and obtained a PhD in African Studies at Cape Town University and a postgraduate degree in Education at the University of London . Between 1970 and 1982 he teaches cultural anthropology at the University of Bologna and from 1982 to 1992 ethnology at La Sapienza University in Rome. He is visiting professor at numerous universities in Europe, America and Africa, including Cambridge University, Manchester University and Addis Ababa University ; He has been an honorary member of the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland and honorary member of the Italian Institute for Africa and the Orient [2] . Between 1996 and 2000 he is President of the European Council on African Studies [3] .

Bernardo Bernardi's studies focus on Sub-Saharan Africa , through field research in Zimbabwe , Kenya and Ethiopia , and study stays in many African countries. The anthropologist focuses his attention on the social and religious structures of the Zesuru and the Meru .
