Ness Castle Formerly named Darochville. By 1835 "the seat of Lady Saltoun". Bought by Sir John Ramsden in 1871 and by mid 1890s was owned by Charles Fountaine Walker whose monogram is above front door.

Mr Fountaine Walker, of Ness Castle, near Inverness, who for many years has been a very prominent citizen, has died suddenly of heart disease. Deceased voted yesterday in the county election, and appeared in his usual health, but in the evening he became ill, and passed away at ten o'clock. For twenty-one years he was convenor of the Northern Meeting, and only retired last year. [Aberdeen Evening Express 14 July 1892]
