[presumably] SAMUELLS, William Leycester. Patna 14.7.1841 — 1899. British Colonial Officer in India. Son of —> E.A.S. From 1857 served in Bengal. As captain, in 1868-72 served in Chota Nagpur and Rewa. Then in Barrackpur and Hill Tippera. Retired as colonel in 1890.
Publications: Wrote a few archaeological articles for the JASB and ProcASB in the 1870s.
