Pablo Martínez del Río ( Mexico City , May 10, 1892 - January 26 , 1963 ) was a Mexican historian and archaeologist . He specialized in studies of American prehistory . He was director of the National Institute of Anthropology and History and first of the National School of Anthropology and History . He was a member of the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and the Society of Americanists. He was a member of the Mexican Academy of History , he occupied armchair 10, from 1938 to 1963. 1
