After holding house appointments in Newcastle and at Leeds General Infirmary he obtained two specialist diplomas in ophthalmology before going to Doncaster in 1923. he had a considerable private practice in the area and only gave up his Harley Street practice a few months ago. He was well-known for his quiet kindly manner and painstaking professional work and also for his great sense of responsibility to general practitioners. Mr M.D. Thakore died on February 22, after a comparatively short illness, in the Doncaster Royal Infirmary, where he had served as consulting opthalmic surgeon from 1925 to 1952. He was 76 years of age.
